PBIS is a nationally recognized, evidence-based framework designed to strengthen school culture through positive behavior expectations, proactive interventions and tiered systems of support. Since 2015, the California PBIS Coalition has recognized schools that demonstrate successful implementation of the PBIS framework through its four recognition levels: Bronze, Silver, Gold and Platinum.

“These recognitions reflect the dedication of our teachers, staff and school leaders who work each day to create positive, supportive environments where every student feels valued and empowered to succeed,” Superintendent Dr. Froilan N. Mendoza said. “We are proud of our schools for their continued commitment to student well-being, positive school culture, and opportunities for all students to thrive.”

The nine award-winning schools were also recognized through the California PBIS Coalition's statewide recognition program, including acknowledgment during the 11th Annual California PBIS Conference, held Oct. 7-9, 2026, in Sacramento.
